Does this look okay to you?

    Hi guys,

I have removed the Mickey Mouse insignia from my SS cap while I'm waiting for my original set. But I'm worried, should the "stapels" be there? Does it look al right?

    Regards,

    Anders

Thank you Bill for your fast answer. I'll not remove them, I just became worried that someone had done some stupid post war job on the cap.

Once again, thanks for your answer.

Personally, the only time I've seen these staples is on a certain reknowned repro:

Those staples are often there on genuine caps of all branches...they attach the lower end of the peak stiffener...

            Cheers,
            Arran.

I personally have never seen the staples show through the cap band on any period visor of any branch. This is not to say it never happed but it would make me want to inspect much closer. I have seen untouched visors with the prongs from the eagle protruding through the lining. I know a lot of collectors don’t like that. Anders can you post more pics of the inside and under the sweatband?

I have never dared to fold up the sweat band before because it's made of paper, but one nice thing did I discover, a name. Norman Albriger do I believe it says... What do you think?...

It might also be Albright... or Albrecht

IMHO has this cap never been messed with, I can not see any signs to that at all. The stapels were put on the cap when it was made.
Now, if that makes it a repro in some peoples eyes, then so be it.
I'm convinced that the cap is from the period before May 1945 and someone does indeed has to come up with some proof that it isn't to make me think otherwise.

                              Why ask for opinions then?
