Well, I like it but I'm biased of course. I have a very similar black M43 which has never given me cause for concern.

This is not a comment on originality but has anyone seen "1/2" size increments on an M43 type hat before?

Yes, and on a few sidecaps.

I have seen the 1/2 size increments as well on original hat's.

So guys, bottom line, are there doubts out there about both of these caps?

Ben, Is not the double row of stitching at the base of the ear flaps on your hat a bit atypical? Does that run completely around the bottom?

Yes, I guess it is, so is the wool. It's very smooth, almost like a heavy grade badgecloth. To be honest though, I have no doubts about it. I have no other Pz M43's to compare it to but plenty of Heer ones. It feels and smells perfectly right to me and little details like the full lengh bias material are all present.

Correct, from your pictures it seems that this "smoothness" can be determined.

Green or black it makes NO difference if Original they are all "alike"!

I will certainly not be the one to disagree with your "comfort" on this piece; perhaps it is just one of those that requires having it in your hands to appreciate its "merits"

                          With regards,
                          Bryon (B. N.) Singer

I think that's right Bryon. I'm looking at my own pictures and will readily admit that "doubts could be entertained" But, and I don't know if this makes sense, in hand, you can sense the age of the piece. It's in no way, shape or form, a modern reproduction.

Personally I agree with Ben, the best if you get the piece in your hand, you can sense the age of the piece. Many times bad photos about good items cause that some people have entertain doubts.

                                I like both caps!
