Great line up of RW-Heer transitional caps! Very nice Ron.
All those other examples are classic government issue lower grade enlisted/NCO cap, to include unit property stamps
You have plenty of comparison material in your RW-Heer collection!
So you can clearly see the difference and the beautiful high end Pionier one that started the thread is therefor in a totally different league !
To me based on the higher crown, bullion wreath incorporated in the cap band and high quality DOE SKIN wool and satin like liner is clearly
a private purchase OFFICER pattern, so high end quality, all officer traits! and even had a TR eagle on it at one time....so its been played with (restored) and made into a lower rank RW configuration for some reason...
It probably looked something like this ( after 1933) ...and restored incorrectly with a TR Luftwaffe pattern leather chin strap to a lower grade.
Easy to fix! This will make your collection also more diverse! Either fix it to:
RW officer with silver cap cords added (RW pattern is slightly thinner than Heer types I believe see period image of officer that you posted),
or go with the RW-Heer transitional look! (putting an eagle where the holes are!)
