      Martin, the eagle on your cap is similar to a design that has always bothered me. Perhaps Archivist Jos can help and find a period photo of this one. It is also unusual to see the cockade sewn so high in a wide double button example. Not saying bad, but the insignia is not a "one looker."

          No Martin, so far the cap looks ok. May we see the lining and some details of the "loops" and the lining behind the insignia.

                                Nice summer weight late war. I have the same one. Same stiching. Not zigzaged. What color is your linning material? Mine is a brassish brown satinette.
