No markings that I can find yet.

What do you mean by the back? Do you want to see the inside back or the outside's back side?

EDIT: I gave it some though and I'm guessing you want to see the outside's back. If this next one doesn't work let me know and I'll take more pics.

Sorry, I meaned the outside back.
Enjoy your dinner, I'm not in a hurry! I've seen a similar one at a friend's, just wanted to see if it was really the same. Looks good so far.

No problem, I realised thats probably what you wanted so I edited the post to include a pic of it.

Hope this pic fits the bill.

Excellent, I bought this over eBay. It was somewhat of a site unseen gamble but it paid off.

Also what would it cost to replace that torn insig? And would it be OK to do so?

                          2 options:

Leave it as it is and you would have an untouched cap
Or replace an eagle: the cost will be the price you'll pay for a bird, and stiching, of course

                          If you wanna sell it:

Some mite say that you saved a piece of history with let it has you found it
Others will say that you've touched it adding a new bird.
And some will find it nicer complete

                          Dilemma....

I would conserve it that way, IMO.

Leave the eagle as it was found! My opinion...

Thanks for the input, I think I will leave it as is. I've always liked honest peices over touch-ups anyhow.

Also, does the fact that this cap is of an unusually large size add to its value at all? I have it next to a 55 and it appears to be at least a 60. I haven't tried it on, but I wear a 7.5 USA size and it appears as if it would easily fit me.
