Black Piping was the "transitional" Kreis level visor, before they switched it to white. I'd say around...1937 issue, judging by the pattern of eagle, abscence of the gilt wreath and the matching brown felt band. It's not a bad looking cap, albeit the visor looks pretty warped, can you get an overall shot of the cap?

Nice early Kreis level visor. Altough, I don't collect political I would think the price should start around 1500$ and up. I hope Bob Coleman sees your thread and expand more or correct me.

Here are some more photos. It's not in great shape but I've seen a lot worse.Thanks for the info. This early of a hat would not have gold wreath around the cockade or gold chin cord if I'm not mistaken.
