I can't find the picture right now, but Janke also used the label "Erko" for Ernst Kruger, which actually is a real company in Germany that makes Vulcanfiber products! So much for intellectual property laws!
When I first encountered a "Danfoss" cap with the logo swiped from the Danish company (http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...36&postcount=6), I thought it was just an oddity. Now I see them popping up frequently. I always knew Janke had reproduced known makers' labels for reenactors...but this one is so blantantly and obviously wrong. They even got the angle of the logo wrong.
"Gee, this looks just like a 1940's logo...Let's use it in our next batch of fakes. Collectors are so stupid that no one will ever realize we got it from a modern Danish company that has absolutely nothing to do with TR headgear!"
Could it really be Janke doing these? Or are we using "Janke" as a metaphor for any reproduction or fake visor cap?
Nice one Nick, can I buy one - SS Coloured piped of course, something exotic, Nebelwefer perhaps, ohh and named. I have 10 grand doing nothing in my trousers that I can't possibly keep much longer
Given Nick's post on the Generalstab Janke being offered on a dealer's site, it looks like we need to continue this thread.
This is Janke's Holters logo:
