A Norbert Graetz/Hans E Flieger special sold by the legendary N&T Global Trading--note it is also a Wert Siegel, indicating it is just a Franky-Janky :

            Hello.

I'm new to this group, although I have been a militaria collector for over thirty years. One thing intrigues me about this Janke business. Based upon what I've seen and read here, I'm puzzled as to what area of this "hobby" his business fits into. Is he the first re-enactor supplier? If so, could we place his "work" in the same catagory as Mr Nakata (of remade Japanese military artifact fame)? If not, is he, in fact, promoting the one thing which has been the bane of all our collecting existence - "repro"! I'm curious to know what you all think. Is Herr Janke"s work a legitimate military collectable or not?

            Warmest regards,

Hugh Zillmann (not to be confused with "Otto", the earlier mentioned cap-maker, although I would love to own one of those - pure vanity thing!)

Hugh--he doesn't sell them as fakes, but as reproductions. He sells them w/o Nazi insignia, and the dealer (there are Janke dealers) put any insignia with the Swaz on them outside of Germany. They really are easy to detect, as they all have the same characteristics. There are dealers and sellers who do sell them as originals, and at that time they become fakes. Lately, I have been seeing the "Franky-Janke", in which the fakers replace the tell-tale sweatband with a fold-over. Most of their logos are inked onto the lining, and are fantasy ones anyway, so the easy give-away is still there.

                      Hello

are all the visors with zig-zag stiched sweatband Janke repros ? I ask this because there are such items on german militaria now ; example :

These really cannot be considered fakes, as they all have common characteristics. With bullion insignia, the first and foremost is the cockade. With Jankes, the black ring in the cockade is made out of black thread in lieu of black-painted bullion. For example:
