    Battle of the Atlantic!

    So I just got one of my dream caps: a KM officer's cap with removable white top (blue top came as well). Here is my current "Battle of the Atlantic" shelf:
    surface row: RN senior officer, RN junior officer, USAAF Bancroft crusher (I need a USN cap here);
    subsurface row: KM NCO, KM senior officer white top, KM junior officer blue top.

    Here is a close-up of the star cap: white top senior KM officer. Sorry for the flashed out picture.

      KM senior white top next to KM junior officer blue top. Both have removable tops; the junior officer (which I picked up this summer) is much more salty than the senior officer.

        Inside of the senior officer KM cap. Note the cream colored interior.

          Here is the interior of the junior officer removable top: traditional cornflower blue.

            For kicks and for comparison, here are some details on the Royal Navy senior officer cap. With the Royal Navy, the white top is merely a cover fitting over a blue-topped cap.

              The RN senior officer interior -- notice the circular stitching pattern. This is very common for Commonwealth officer's caps.

                  Hi LeeG,

                  very nice caps. Congratulation.

                  The white top senior officer visor cap, looks as the corcade is replaced, beacuse the material of bill looks as celleon and the corcade is made of metal wire.
                  The eagel is an Heer one. Looks like silver not gold?

                  Please can you post me a picture of the hole for the eagel on teh white top?

                  Best,
                  steiner99

                    Hi Steiner,
                    The flash is washing everything out -- the cockarde and wreath on the bill are both bullion and evenly aged. The eagle on the white-top is indeed KM. It is gold, though the gold finish is wearing away (this is common); it is a three-pronged variant and the white top has three holes especially made for this eagle.
                    Here's another photo -- but again with a flash.
