Heer Wreath with attached Cockade...Original?

Hello,

I have an example of a Heer visor insignia where the cockade is physically attached to the wreath. I this unusual? I tried searching the forum but can't seem to find any references to examples where the cockade is attached like this.

I'd appreciate any opinions as to it's authenticity.
