"Lack of wear is not necessarily a condemning trait"

Sorry mike, it is in my book. Unworn original!! What's that all about, a way to often used explanation.

    You can't kid a kidder.

    Bill.

Bill, as you have seen, it is relatively easy to post unworn and in some cases unissued examples that are 100% original. But to each his own.

I also concur that there are almost as many minty caps (when brought back from the war anyway) in collections as there are combat worn examples.. Remember much of this was gathered AFTER the heat of battle subsided by troops who had the opportunity to scavange and sent the items back as war trophys..from army supply depots, warehouses, manufacturing locals and destroyed supply systems like trains ships trucks etc ....More often hard storage since 1945 is the culprit..While flat new may not be your cup of tea holes and stink dont always make it right..One harded combat vet i knew brought to items back..Binoculars for ball games and a camera....He saw too many buddies die and too much killing..Thanks god they didnt all share his hard combat experiences OR souvenir interests ..JMHO Billbert

I have Always been interested in collecting MINT examples; and although my collection is not as large as I would like; I can assure you that I have several Original examples that fall into the MINT, unissued, look like they were made yesterday category.

                Ah Mr. Davis,

Now that is an example that I could entertain NO doubts about!!! A screamer, it can come "live" with me anytime.

Thanks for the replies. Given all replies I think the best is to continue my search and save my money. Better luck next time.

I know the frustration. I have 4 heer panzer tunics, and need headgear for 2 of them. I have looked, long and hard, for a black heer M-43 that requires no explaination. So far, none have come my way.

                      Hey Bob,

You know where one is. And you certainly have something that just might pry it out of my hands. Jim
