Original visor cap insignia?

I pulled these from a post-war visor cap. (a collector attachd them) Can anyone tell me if they're original?

The red part is cloth material.

Both are good. The bird is an earlier one.

I don't know Nick,that bird looks bad IMO,could be the pic though,but I think it has lack of detail,if I compare it to mine.
Would like to see a full frontal pic of the bird

Jeremy you could be right. I do not have an early nickle example I can compare to. I know you do. Can you post the close up? How does that baby look with that prewar cord?
