    Insignia ID Help Needed

I know this swastika patch was worn on the side of an overseas cap. I have seen such a cap when Helmut Weitze had one. The cap was a tan color.

Does anyone know what organization used this insignia? I know I have seen reference to it, but have not been able to find it in my library.

I have photographed the insignia next to a standard SS visor hat skull to demonstrate the size. It is BeVo woven and has a lot of use and some storeage rust stains.

    Thank you,
    Bob Hritz

Did you pick this up at the SOS?? If you did it was until recently attached to a grey colored HBT m34 army style hat..It had vent grommets and was quite original from what i could see..As to who used either item and when ..It has eluded me..The cap was on the WAF after the SOS asking about it..I think it went to europe..hope this helps Billbert
I am to understand the cap i speak of came out of OLD colection in PA.

      Hello Bilbert,

I purchased this insignia from Manion's Auction, about 3 weeks ago and it just arrived. I would hope no one would take it from a hat, post war.

The piece that Helmut Weitze had was a gray or tan twill overseas cap and he bought it from someone at the SOS in 2005. I saw it right after he bought it.

I know I have seen the insignia, in a book, but cannot seem to find it.

          Bob,

If you look at the thread below yours posted by Doug O, he has posted the entire hat. That position may change by the time you see it, in that case it's titled "Help Needed To Identify Overseas Cap Please."

Give a man an opinion and you feed him for a day,
teach a man to use the "search" function on the WAF and you feed him for a lifetime.
