If not for the buttons I might venture that it was produced for commercial wear (post war).

A 'reproduction'...no. Post war absolutely! We often forget that this 'style' of cap was incredibly popular from its inception through and including the mid- 60's

Found to be made from any sort of material including fine leather...

Yes indeed! Post war manufactured. I guess that is what I meant by reproduction (not WW2 manufacture)
