    Hi Bob, believe it or not a lot of TR cap makers did their sweatbands like that. The front would be machine stitched with the band folded over and the rear hand stitched directly to the base. Off the top of my head Schellenberg visors used that method.

      Nick is right. Here is the sweatband on a Schellenberg Panzer Grenadier visor that a friend of mine is selling for the price of a small family car.

          This is the Schellenberg model that came to mind with that type of sweatband.
