Hello Dave,

I am seeing more and more of the visor hats with sweat bands applied like th posted example. I find it hard to believe a band would be machine sewn through the front visor area and reversed and hand sewn around the rest of the hat. Is this ever found on original hats? It looks poor and less than what I would expect from German craftmanship.

Hi Bob, believe it or not a lot of TR cap makers did their sweatbands like that. The front would be machine stitched with the band folded over and the rear hand stitched directly to the base. Off the top of my head Schellenberg visors used that method.

Nick is right. Here is the sweatband on a Schellenberg Panzer Grenadier visor that a friend of mine is selling for the price of a small family car.
