I agree, first one is a post war fireman or postman's cap, I can't remember which now. The others are just naff repros..

Hi Dennis, I would agree with Glenn and Ben. As Ben mentioned the "M43" style cap is actually post war West German, I think fire brigade too. The rampant horse will be a State insignia I think.

Thanks to all. He is wanting $375 apiece except for the first one which he wants $425 for. He told me the guy who sold/ traded them to him told him the first cap was a very rare one worth $1600. Wonder why he sold it so cheap? The trip wasn't wasted as I traded for some legitimate TR pieces but it is sad to see this kind of junk floating around.

Offer him $50 for the lot. If he is giving you the "it's worth $1600 but I'll sell it to you for $425" line, that should put up a lot of red flags as to how honest the guy is, IMHO. The first cap is a fireman's cap for North Rhein - Westphalia, which didn't even exist prior to the end of the war.

Oh boy!! It is an obvious reproduction. Construction,wool type.lining.markings etc are all bad.
