It certainly looks TR period (or even slightly earlier than that) but it is definitely neither WH nor LW. I would say possibly Post, but this would need to be confirm by someone else - civil and para-military organisations are outside my scope of expertise.

Note the nice and, for sure unusual, costruction of this visor cap.

          Kind regards

          Alex

I am not sure what it is but I have seen that type of interior on Pekuro civil visors before. The shape and color is so odd that I am wondering if in is not early West German. Pekuro did continue to make caps after the war.

I got this from a local trading partner of mine. He showed it to a guy out west who was recommened to me, for visor repair, from a forum member. The guy said he and a collector friend of his at first thought it was post war but later came to the conclusion it was late weimar/ early TR and could be worn with or without an eagle. I thought he said it was Heer. Although it doesn't look Heer to me. Anyway any and all thoughts are welcome.

I think this is early post war manufacture. The top lining looks to be made from a plastic material and the markings on the shield are typical of post war Pekuro's.

Thanks for the info. So caps still used DRP patent after the war -- I thought they went to DBP? Unless they used old stock to make new hats.

They couldn't used DBP before the end of 49, because there was no Bundesrepublik and there for no Bundespatent.

                          Definately NOT "Postwar" . . .

                          Nice cap.

From the markings, workmanship and materials I would date this cap as having been made before 1945. But from what organization? The Army style cap wreath may not be original to the cap.

I have seen similar caps worn by Schutzen (Rifle Clubs) organizations.

Interesting -- I also think the wreath might not be original to the cap -- However the original emblem was the same size for sure.

Just an update on this visor. I caught the tail end of a program on the history channel this month called "Hitler's Guerillas" or "Nazi Guerillas", I believe, about the end of the war and the last ditch chaos caused in Germany by a few hard liners who wouldn't accept the occupation. The time frame was right at the end of the war to about 1946 I believe. Anyway in some footage I saw a guy wearing a visor (in the crowd) that was exactly the same shape as this visor. Unfortunatly the image was fleeting and I couldn't see the emblem. But it was just like this visor. Oh well maybe sometime I'll catch the program again.
