DAK or Tropical?
1st one's dated 43 - sized 58.

This one's also dated 43 - maker marked and field elarged at the rear with an insert made from breeches material.

Nice Mark! Somehow DAK caps seem like a good thread to kick off the new forum. Here's a stretch, a KM tropical cap.

This ones a Hans Brandt - 42 dated.

A plain jane M34 dated 1943. (Feel like I am clutching at straws now.)

I just had to get in on the act. The more tropical caps the better I say.
This first one is a Robert Lubstein em's cap. It's about a size 57 and has had the panzer soutache removed.

This 2nd cap is a Frankenstein with soutache removed. Size 57 and dated 1941.

Okay, with this one I will have tapped myself out on anything remotely 'tropical': a Berolina LW fliegermutz.

How rare would you say a Tropical 43 field cap be compared to a 40/41 field cap? Ratio wise. Any ideas?

43 are far more common - ratio? I've no idea.
