Technical issue on NCO visor cap chinstrap

    Dear All,

A technical question for those experts in the field.

Having had a careful look at all my NCO WH visor caps, I noticed that one of them had a black chinstrap which, although similar in shape and appearence to all the other was not made of leather but rather a kind of ersatz material (like a thick and stiff laquered cloth).

Is it normally found on such caps?

    Thank you for your help

    Alex

Such ersatz chin straps are quite normal, in fact. They are sometimes vulcanfiber, as is the peak, itself.
