    Gebirgstruppen Cap

Would you guys please give opinions on this cap? The cap was for sale by The Collector's Guild.

I wonder about the cockade as it seems unusual. Others seem to have problems with the entire cap. I'll like to know what the cap and Gebirgsjager experts think.

Hi Charles, looks like a Luftwaffe style cockade to me?

      Cheers, Ade.

General Kuebler wearing a metal cockade if I'm not mistaken. Was this common for generals?

Hi Ade, I was thinking the same thing. The Collector's Guild cap and the soldier in the first photo both have the same or similar cockades. I was thinking it very unusual on the officer's cap until I came across this photo last night.

Another gebirgs General wearing a large cockade. Who is this man?

Look at this Gebirgs RK holder. It looks like a large cockade sewn slightly over the bottom of the cap eagle.

An officers Bergmutze with 2 piece insignia original to the cap.

Nice cap. Looks like an embroidered eagle and a woven cockade. The appear to be hand sewn along with the silver twisted piping on the crown. Are the insignia sewn through the lining?

The eagle is machine sewn (not through the lining) the cockade is hand sewn as is the piping. Being a private tailored cap this is normal.

And so ... probably NO Bergmütze ....
The use of a T-Adler does not mean this to be a Bergmütze.

So ... a nice normal private Off. M43.
