OT M43 cap

Just wanted to show off a OT enlisted man's M43 cap with a very nice late war trap that is of the Army configuration in design except that it is of course in the OT colors. I have seen some officer grade OT M43, but this is the only EM that I have ever owned or for that matter seen in quite awhile. This cap is one of those one look, one "feel" type caps when you have it in your hand that experienced cap collectors will know what I mean. By feel, I mean the "dead wool" feel that a cap gets after being shaped the same for 60+ years. The wool is typical late war that is the blend of reused (recycled) wool with bits of cellulose entertwined in the wool. The trap was hand sewn on so I conclude it was reapplied at some point to restore it. Please feel free to comment if you like.

Thanks for looking, the cap BTW is for sale in the estand currently as I need to raise funds for another purchase. Hate to let it go but I can't keep everything ....

I've have hadled this cap personally and it is without a doubt an original M43. I would buy it myself if I collected OT or combat RAD items. Nice cap , good price!
is the helmet in the back ground for sale?

Back to the hat... I have also handled it and agree it is a one looker. I would think these Todt hats would be fairly rare.
