Gendarmerie cap for review

Hi

I'd very much appreciate your assistance with this Gendarmerie cap.

I'm not too hot on headgear so just wondered if this is correct, or does it look a 'bit too new'?

Looks nice to me! Can you feel reinforcing behind the front seam lining and around the lower circumference? As with most German caps the innards are as important as the outside.

The Edelweiss is postwar BW .
IMO the whole cap is a high end repro ...you don't find reinforcement bands in Bergmütze side flaps ? Do you ?
