    Early Erel general's Kleiderkasse visor

For more than a decade now, I have been trying to find the answer to when Erel started producing for the Heeres-Kleiderkasse. About ten years ago, I was able to find this visor frozen in it’s 1934 configuration: https://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/for...y+kleiderkasse

Now I was able to find this general’s visor with an logo that I suspect to be earlier. This visor was worn until at least 1935 (and it does show significant wear). Does anyone know when this logo was used?

Very nice visor. I have this similar eagle in silver color. Is this from a very early officers visor then?

        thanks

Yes Nicolai, this is an early eagle -- they were alike for officers and other ranks.

Kurt, sorry, cannot help. IMO, a Weimar/Reichswehr visor period-upgraded with the 1934 insignia.
            Lovely cap--amazing that it did not get re-upgraded in 1935 & 1943....

Great cap but I believe this one is the earlier one due to the circular Logo.
Actually this one seems to have been made during a transitional period because it has both circular and diamond logos.

I think the soldier would have purchased a new cap that featured the dark green band plus the new insignia. This is a wonderful time capsule cap from that early 3rd Reich era.

Thanks everyone for the positive comments. Towards dating, I have another early example that has more of a Teller-shape and field grey material (disregard the insignia, they are restored). Would you agree that this one is even earlier than the Erel?

I think those two were probably made around the same time.

Weitze has this eReL Offizier Kleiderkasse which claims to be from the first war but I think it's a re-badged Reichswehr cap.

                          Hello Kurt,
lovely looking visors you have there... the centre band piping looks to be quite thin, or thinner than normal..Great find :-)

It could well have belonged to a high ranker....to be a General in say 1933 to 34....could have progressed much higher by wartime.

Thanks Ben for sharing these images! VERY interesting... I agree it looks like it was produced in the Weimar period. If so, this would mean that at least the field grey Reichsmarine units did not have a separate Kleiderkasse for their hats.
