Political Leader Visor With Yellow Piping

I think I saw a thread from years ago about these visors being made for a PL school. I think this is one of those. I'll post more pics tomorrow. DSC05085.JPG

Gromets on the sides would make it a Pol. school hat I believe.

Yes, according to the late Bob Coleman, they were found unissued at Vogelsang.
Apparently they were intended for the 1943 class, which was never held due to the war.
          Terrific examples....

I took some more pics for the WA archives. I have always been a bit confused when it comes to PL visors. I'm hoping somebody like stonemint [the visor king] can give us some kind of list. Like most common color to most rare? Or visa versa? Thank you stonemint, and others who have commented. I think it's strange how my hat seems to be a bit sloppy, pleats are uneven, and one eagle prong goes through liner and the other doesnt. It is unfortunate my hat seems to have been a bit crushed and pasteboard suffered some damage and visor partially unstitched. I'm trying to get it back into shape on a head. For those of us who have a passion for visors, DSC05088.JPG DSC05087.JPG DSC05089.JPG DSC05090.JPG I think this is an area of visors that confuses many of us and I do hope this thread will spread some light, Cliff

CLE, killer example--a lot of these are in less than mint condition due to poor storage over the years--yours is a stunner, congrats....

Thank you Stonemint. Its not as "stonemint" as I would like it to be but it's about the best condition as any visor I have ever had. I would think this is a fairly rare piping color, no? I think I may have some rare photo negs of this school. I will try to find them asap to add to this thread. Thanks again, Cliff

Cliff, yes. The color is actually lemon-yellow, which is particular to the wartime Ordensburgen (and in contrast to Reichsleitung piping, which is golden-yellow).

I saw one just like it on Helmut Weitze for 2800 Euro!! That seems like the moon to me. For me, it's one of my favorite hats and a true keeper. I've never had one with such bright new looking insignia. It looks like it would have 75 years ago when the leaders wore them....I can now understand why hats that are "stonemint" are so compelling.
