No I guess not but it clearly isn't a one looker fake or original. I was wondering if anyone had been able to study caps with this mark in the intervening years or if any more had surfaced but there are no other threads showing one. It has a lot of things I like about it but certainly not among the usual accepted types

The photos do not show enough details that need to be inspected but IMO it does not give me a warm black fuzzy feeling.

Agreed but unfortunately liking what you see is Not Always indicative of seeing what you would like.

Correct! Regarding these Pz M43 caps, a "textbook" one should be reliable choice.

The cap is rather well constructed, but black material is difficult to evaluate. Close-ups of the stitching would be good and all images made outdoors in indirect good sunlight help. Indoor images are not the best. Sometimes an in-hand evaluation is needed as well.

These are the quality of photos that show details well, thanks. It is lovingly made and has the finest detailed loops under the sides I have ever seen. Maybe overly perfect! I expect some will still find the cap to be perfectly original but I still don't see a war-time original. Other than the trapezoid and buttons I doubt the basic materials are WW 2 era. Only an opinion.
