M38 for Review

Let's give the new Forum a try. I am considering this Army officer Gebirgsjager M38 sidecap. It looks OK to me, but cloth headgear is not my forte. Comments MUCH appreciated.

Looks good. For me it would not be a Gebirgsjaeger cap because the Bergmuetze was THE headgear for them to wear, but a really nice Kleiderkasse cap which people can dispute as what it is: Pz. Gren., Jaeger, Krad, Gebjaeger.......

Hi Pauke,

When was the Bergmuetze instituted? Or am I confusing that with the generic later dated M43? I know the construction of the two are different.

Sometimes GBJ wore side caps... Nice M38, but I'll leave it to more experienced eyes to confirm which branch of service this is.
