    Heer Cap for review

    All,

Not my area of collecting but I was offered this cap in trade. Pretty rough and the pics are not the greatest but hoping I can get some initial opinions on it. Thanks for your time.

do you have or can you get a closeup of the eagle and the interior?

unfortunately these are the only photos available. I completely understand it is hard to get a good assessment based on photos as they are not great so any red flags or possibly red flags would be appreciated.

I think it would be hard to say w/o better pictures. The cut looks ok, but w/o the eagle details, interior stamps, and the grommets its kinda hard to know for certain.

The pictures are not very good but the cap is probably genuine. It has faded prewar insignia (first pattern) and slate grey grommets so likely '36 to '38 timeframe. It's real liability are the numerous holes and likely other damage.
