    Schellemberg Visor Any good

A friend asked my opinion on the following visor. Since headgear isn’t my strong point I figured I’d ask the experts. Sorry for the poor quality of the pictures. Jim

    The company is "Schellenberg" Jim,

does it say Schellemberg ? If so that is not good. It does look like a M in the photos but may be the cloth is frayed and has split the N apart a bit ?

The sweatband is not what I have seen on a regular Schellenberg visors Is your one a crusher ? May be someone has resewn the liner band with a replaced leather one. Later Schellenberg sweatbands are often made from fragile ersatz leather/ cloth materials that can fall apart with use, abuse or constant pulling down to look under the hood by collectors,

      Hi Chris,

It’s not my hat. It is an N. So the company name is correct. I believe it’s a crusher. Thanks for your comments. Jim

        Cheers Jim,

I have never handled a Schellenberg crusher. It will be interesting to see what other say.

Given that the sweatband looks resewn, I would check if the leather visor has been added. However if it is a real crusher then it will have the correct internal band design to fold a bit. Thus that will tell a lot

        Regards, Chris

          Hello,
In my opinion, the sweatband and lining do not appear to be typical for this maker. It is not a visor cap I would want in my collection.
          Thank you,
          Curtiss
