Luftwaffe Hermann Göring Division NCO M43

I have got mixed information about the Luftwaffe Hermann Göring Division aircraft mechanic's M43 cap cloth eagle. Some people say that there has been a version of the eagle thread on the black and attached on a blue/gray M43. Can this be true or is it so that it was always only black on black M43?

There was a black HBT cap for Luftwaffe mechanics which had a black backed eagle applied. These eagles are often wishfully identified as HG Panzer.

Yes, that is what I was thinking too. The eagle on the black cloth would never be attached to blue/gray M43, only to the black. Thanks.

People have applied black backed eagles to blue M43s and call them a HG piece, I've seen this several times, all postwar IMO

Or simply because so many original black cap eagles came out on the market 10 years ago that it was easier to find a black one to restore a M43 cap than a blue
grey one !
