    Grommets

    I was watching Smithsonian Channel last night and found some of the caps in the 1945 Color surrender film interesting.


    A two button M43 with grommets. Two of the soldiers are sporting metal Eagles on their caps.

    Probably a m-42 with a added visor.

      Agree, I guess the same for the guy on the left with the metal eagle on it, looks like a T shaped insignia he has on his cap (mostly used on M42s)

        I agree the fellow on the left has a M-42 converted with the addition of an odd- shaped bill narrower and with straight "sides" unlike a regular bill. The GI should pick the cap on the right for a souvenir.
