Hello All,
A member whose opinion I respect contacted me via PM warning that a cap I have on offer is a copy. I greatly appreciate him letting me know in this way rather than by starting a gotcha! thread.
His comments were that it was not a period Kaps made cap: sweatband is nothing like from an original, lining logo is not applied correctly, lining material appears off, visor looks fake, etc. He also mentioned that an original Geb. crusher would be a rare thing in the first place and I certainly agree with that! I checked and do not seem to have had any kind of Kaps Alter Art product before so, the sample size must be pretty small.
Anyway, I took his comments seriously and asked a couple of other people whose opinions I respect to take a look. They too had not had the opportunity to handle Kaps examples of this type but didn't necessarily see any red flags.
I have the permission of the cap's consignor and potential buyer(s) to post images here. We aren't necessarily focused on the insignia and their application but rather on the base cap itself. Any useful comments and observations would be appreciated.
