    Splinter camo cap

I know most of these are a leap of faith and hard to authenticate. I’m guessing this is a field made cap. Positives I see for being field made is no grommets, and no liner. I’ve read that the few that some think are real are more of this style without the grommets or liner. Shows many wear areas and has that dirty been there look. Might just be one of those pieces “as long as I’m happy with it”
Anybody care to share their opinions on it or in need of any specific better photos?

    Thanks for looking

Doesn’t show any natural wear to the inner sweatband at all yet it’s clearly cut from a used zelt.

Ok, so possible used/worn zeltbahn. As far as the interior not showing any wear, could it of been worn very little or not at all? Is there a certain construction method or something obvious that shows it was made post war? Just wondering as I’m not familiar with construction/tailor methods.
          Thanks for the comments

Used material from surveyed gear was salvaged for use as a common practice. Even salvageable enemy items were put to further use as nothing was wasted during the war.

              Dah
              That is a given.
Sadly this cap is far off the mark
              At a show it’s a $50 cap.

So then the price of time consumed by This thread is more than the actual cap
