I think the eagle is a modern reproduction.

Welcome to the forum Kehlsteinhaus !

Regarding the eagle (and the entire cap) I must say I disagree. It is one of the nicest and mintiest examples I have ever seen. It is a beautiful textbook eagle and wreath in stonemint condition on an unquestionable period visor.

There is only one problem I see: while most relatively common dark blue Government Officials visors are identified as Diplomatic visors, member pieand identified his unquestionable black Diplomatic Corps visor as being the visor of a Government Official.

                Thank you!

The eagle looks so close to modern copies in my opinion, and the backing material looks rather wide...?
Wreath looks good but just my opinion.

I just noticed that it has the rare reverse-twist cords as well....

I totally understand your concern but this eagle is just incredibly minty. Check out the feathers on the eagle's breast -- the copies never show this detail.

I agree, that eagle is righteous, and similar to mine:

                              Nothing escapes you chris.
Is your cap a blue one, I think so.
Is it a maker name Inside?
