Rough Diplo visor

This one just came out of an old warehouse. It was covered in dust and grit when I got it. The visor is present but separated from the cap

Any opinions would be greatly appreciated

It would be great to find someone who would tackle the restoration. I had a friend who could perform marvels with such restorations but, sadly he passed last year.

I might add that this would have been worn by a Government Official and not a member of the Diplomatic Corps.

Totally agree. The navy blue proves it. Officials of the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs wore the color black on the base fabric of their caps Unless it is a rare cap used in 1938 during Hitler's visit to Rome where they used the dark blue background
