    Strange cap

    Hi, out of my field of collecting, can anybody help id this cap and why is there so many stamps it it?

      cap is okey just i vote for a lot post ww1 theater stamps inside

        The cap is a pre-WW 1 infantry cap with the date 1885(?) and the unit information Infantry Regiment 48(?). The image is too small for me to be able to read the info clearly. There should be a couple of round "button"-like badges on it as well but they seem to be missing.

          Cap markings

          Hi, thanks for the input, the pictures are not very good, there doesnt seem to be any cockades but with these pictures I can't tell if there has been any.
          Here are some close up pictures of the stamps.
          I can't seem to make the photo's larger.
          Is this cap rare in any way or common.

            The markings make this cap more interesting and as an older cap it's less common, but fewer collectors want pre-war items, the war-time items having a much bigger audience.

              Not uncommon but interesting if you are versed into Imperial German Army.
