    Unusual German Army Buckle Variant ???

    This was a fresh family estate bought buckle. I have never come across one in brass with the Army insignia done this way. What have I got here. Would seem like a rare variant. Any help appreciated

    I see no traces of gilding on roundel, so it has no chance to be a KM variant like this one :

    That said, I've never seen something like that.

      Is it a early KM buckle variant ? Or What ?

        I am quite sure that this is not an official or manufacturer's variant. It looks like a self-made construction. Rivet-mounted roundels are not known to me as an original.
        Further roundel is heavy worn, on the box there is not a single trace of wear.

            I concur with Guido - looks like something that someone put together with pieces and parts in their garage but definitely not an original manufactured buckle.

            I am still looking in my files, but I could have sworn the box is a known reproduction type coming out of England in the '70's.
