"1741" Brass Buckle ID Help

Hello all,

I recently acquired this neat buckle, and I can't seem to find any information on it. It looks pretty old, 19th century maybe close to Civil War era but I don't know for sure. I'm guessing it was some kind of regiment number? Can anyone tell me more about it? Or where it might be from? It turned up in Massachusetts. Thanks
