    Opinion and info needed

    Hi guys,
Firstly I am a "jack of all trades, master of none", so I need help from the experts. Can I please have your opinions on this tropical web belt and buckle? Also, were SS buckles ever made with leather tabs?
    cheers mates,
    Steve

Hi Steve, looks OK to me.

I would be very wary of any SS buckle with a leather tab.

            Cheers, Ade.

              Steve,

Both the buckle and belt are good. Nice belt. I particularly like the threads running between the adjustment holes. SS EM buckles should not have leather tabs on them They are often put on fake buckles to enhance them.

                  Interesting buckle. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o></o>

A bleu painted late war buckle with web tab, not an every day find!<o></o>

Oops, forgot the other question, … SS buckles with tabs must be regarded on as highly suspicious…. They exist, but only unofficially, when the owner added a tab himself. They where never officially delivered with a tab. Many post where done written this subject in the past.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o></o>

                      Marc,
Thanks for the info. The buckle colour is actually a deep olive, the light and camera put that slightly blue tinge to it. on the reverse, which I forgot to photograph, its definately olive.
I now realize this has been covered before, but is there evidence that individual soldiers would go to the trouble of putting a tab on a buckle? I do not doubt you, I am just very interested in this theory. And is there a reason that anybody knows, why tabs were NOT factory applied? As I said, my thing is not belts/buckles. You are teaching me well !
                      Cheers,
                      Steve
