    Have you ever looked?

Have you ever looked at the domes on your Luftwaffe buckles to see which manufacturer had the the most raised center dome? Granted, it is not a significant deal but it is interesting to see one that has survived the time with no blemishes.

I have one from the firma Ernst Schneider of Ludenscheid. An aluminum 1937 tabbed Luft which stands taller than all the others. You will also find some in the steel versions from this manufacturer as well. Fully understand that all Luft buckles have a raised dome but it becomes very noticeable when you have one more so than the others. Again, not sure what to make of this other than the aesthetic beauty it exudes as it sits in the hand.

If you have any thoughts please share them as well as any photos.

Here is mine: (also showing tab as it is nicely marked)

    Have You Ever Looked?

    Dan,
Fantastic buckle! I did not realize that this Luftwaffe model existed; the first one I have seen. I have come across Prussian Imperial buckles that have a pronounced dome on the roundel. SA buckles, too, can vary in dome height, but I do not know of a version that compares to your buckle. I do agree with you in that they are quite impressive, especially when in top condition. Thanks for sharing.

Very nice to see one so bulged out. Thanks for sharing this.

Yes, very pronounced dome. Also Bruder Schneider Wien has a very pronounced dome like that.
