    This relatively rare buckle I wanted to show, aluminum, grained, manufactured by 1936-1940, manufacturer SCH. & H. in unworn best condition.

      Can you post pics of the buckle reverse?
      I only know Heer SHuCo buckles marked "40"

            I've never seen SHuCo buckles marked under the prong's post
            The prongs sleeve is worn and don't match with the rest of the buckle, the leather tab is missing

                The lock does not care and as you have written unfortunately missing the leather strap.

                .......all the belongings from the estate were in a terrific and unworn condition....minty.
