    H Arld steel buckles

    All-

    Quick discussion-

    - we all know that Arld marked his steel buckles "HA" "Year" in 1941, 1942, and 1943. Don't have a '44 so can't say if he did or did not.
    - we also know there are numerous examples of his 1940 buckles made from aluminum. How long he produced 1940 Aluminum buckles is unknown to me.
    - I have a buckle I believe is an H Arld and I am thinking that in 1940 he did not stamp the steel buckles as I have not seen one yet.

Question - do you believe the below buckle is an H Arld or someone else and does anyone have a 1940 H Arld steel buckle that is stamped???

Thanks for your replies in advance.

I couldn’t find a HA 41 or 40 Heer or Luftwaffe. Do you have a 41 Heer? The eagle, catch, prongs and ears all look like Arld on the buckle you posted. IMG_0607.jpg

      Hi Kirby-

Thanks for responding. Yes - I have a couple of the the '41 & '42.

      Posting a 1941, 1942 and another I believe to be 1940.

Here is a link to a thread that Ben Evans created in 2006 showing a 1940, 1941, 1942 buckles but the 1940 is not marked on the buckle, only on tab though.

And there are a few makers who created 1940 buckles from aluminum until the regulation changes came down. These 1940 aluminums are great buckles to own if you have them as they were manufactured in very limited amounts.

Again, trying to tie up some facts on my end with the H Arld manufacturer on whether H Arld only stamped his 1941, 1942, and 1943 steels and left the 1940 without his signature stamp.

Nice buckles, but I think that the last unmarked trop buckle is B Haarmann made

            Hi Ivan -

Yes, B Haarmann is most definitely a possibility as the catch feet are more in line with Haarmann produced buckles.

Ivan - have you seen an HA marked steel from 1940?
