    Unknown SS buckle

    Hi Guys,

I picked this up cheap in a small lot of stuff and am struggling to ID it- I found some grainy images of another one in an old thread with some suggestion that it may be Flemish?

Is that correct or is it just a nice fantasy buckle?

    Many thanks for any help!

Most say these are post-war buckles which I tend to agree with.

Angolia shows them in his buckle book. I have only come across one and I didn’t like the construction. I thought it was a fantasy item.

thanks both, they seem to be very uncommon so must be older copies, especially if in Angolia- perhaps 1960's? I will post some pictures of it when it is here so it is recorded.

thanks a lot for your help

I saw this type of buckle for the first time in a small shop at Antwerp in the mid-seventies. It was in
the shop amongst other buckles, which gave me the creeps.
Even then, hardly knowing anything about buckles, I was scared to buy it for just some Belgium francs.
Have not ever seen this type of buckle offered in a cataloque or leaflet.

At least the one you came across was cheap. The one I saw the dealer wanted a lot of money. You could have bought 3-5 real SS buckles for what he was asking.
