    Bruder Schneider Luftwaffe buckle?

While chasing the occasion police buckle, I ended up with a Luftwaffe buckle and I wanted to see what others think about it, it seems comparable construction wise with a number of past examples posted.

And these two pictures will show the twist, I've never seen this before, has any one else or do I consider this 'touched up', some level of replacement, or??

      Hi Dave -

Looks like it was repainted as that is definitely not the primer. From the pictures posted, even the outer coat of paint looks wrong. When painted is the question. Buckle is def original and matches my 2-1940 BS lufts

Dave, i do not think its been repainted, looks origional to me, just been touched up at the roller bar rivet heads, ive seen this before on unissued buckles, usually with matching paint , maybe the touch up guy made a mistake on the colour, monday morning job ?, JMO.

            Dave -

Those last pics helped greatly and I agree that the original paint is present, and as stated, the buckle has been touched up.

                Hello,
a steel LW Bruder Schneider from my friend Dario's collection.
We note that many LW steel buckles made by Bruder Schneider have box with some coat ("nickel" or similar). You can note that from green oxidation and from rust absence. Only box has this coat, usually prongs and catch are plain steel. The strange paint shade can be due to this (touched up rivet heads apart).

                Regards
                brus

Thanks for all the additional details, comments, and images posted! This was helpful and I would have been a little shocked if this turned out to be repainted since the color seemed spot on. Also interesting to note the possible nickel like coating/content, I see this in areas were the paint has been worn through. Thanks again!
