SS Officer Buckle up for opinions

Evening folks!
SS officer buckle.. Owner says its aluminum but Im seeing rust
Opinions greatly appreciated. Photos are kinda crappy.

Very bad pictures. He is probably hiding something. Buckle looks strange indeed.

that is bad as the other guys said, one thing without even looking at the back is you can notice how thick the buckle is, SS officer buckles are not quite that thick
