please help with this SS bucke

Please give me any opinions about this SS EM buckle. Steel, silver wash, no marks on the buckle.

On leather tab marked with small eagle, M - for marine, and maker's mark Geb. Schneider, Ludenscheid, 1945; so the leather tab is from another buckle, which is a bad sign

Anyway, I'd lik to hear what you think about it.

    Thaks in advance,
    Valter Gorenc

A well known fake I am sorry to confirm.

The KM related leather tongue has of course been added as an attempt to dignify the fake and is or rather could be interesting.

Are you sure that it is dated 1945?

May the Forum have close up images of the stampings?

      Regards,

      David

Note: This is the exact serie of buckles fakers used as model to produce the (ugliest) new one shown here http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...ad.php?t=96298
This eagle design is not a copy of any Third Reich issued.

          David, Jean,

thank you for your reply. I was quite sure it's fake , but rather asked again. Nevertheless, I didn't pay much for it, plus I got the leather tongue and belt, which are probably original. The date is hard to recognize, but it looks alot like 1945, and I'll try to post more detailed pics of it tomorrow.

          Greetings, Valter

The best possible pic of the leather tab. It's quite worn, but it seems to me to be 1945; handling it it's even more convincing, but that could be also 1940 (or 1946 - that seems impossible??)
Thank you everyone for your help!

I am reasonably confident that the date stamp is 1940.

Not sure who Gebruder Schneider of Ludenscheid were. The only similar name that I know is Lenkwerk in Vienna ? RZM M4/93.
