Great looking buckle. I don’t recall ever seeing this eagle. Great detail to the head and wing. Love to add it to my collection.[emoji106]

          Great looking buckle!
I, too, have never come across an example of this type; although I did see a photo of one several years ago on another forum. Congratulations on your find.

Your buckle reminded me of this buckle. Looks more worn and it was painted silver when I got it. That might be hiding some detail.

Had to pull up my photos and do a side by side. I didn’t think I had seen the eagle before but that was because of the detail on your bird. I will have to look at the old thread.

These buckles are looking very strange and to be honest, I am not 100% convinced that they are pre 1945 made.

On the other hand all details are pretty okay and I have no reservations with patina, solder spots and so on - just unworn pieces. But it would be interesting to see worn examples or other clear indications wich let us think that this is a contemporary production. How do other collectors think?

I want the originality to be true and if so you have there the cherry of the cake!

I’ve owned my example 25 to 30 years so it’s nothing new to the market. I think my example is worn but the dull silver finish covered lots of details. I wasn’t 100% sure on this buckle but I did post it and I recall David North liked the buckle and talked about the cottage industry with buckles. I went from being iffy on the buckle to thinking it is original after his opinion.
