    Strange Buckle

I got this today with some of the usual stuff from a local vet's estate. Never saw this particular buckle before . Any ideas?

      Hello ,

      turnerschaft/Turnerbund FFFF was forbidden in 1933 !

      Why then with swastika ?

IMO the complet buckle is fake .

The buckle was bought directly from a veteran's estate with other items from one of my local newspaper ads. It is 100% real. Do you think someone is going to make a high quality steel die to make the emblem for just one previously unknown buckle then hide it in a veteran's estate in New England just so I can buy it for a few dollars?

One of the joys of posting something no one has seen before on WAF.

The solder job looks different than all my two piece buckles. No telling when the roundel was added.

ugly soldering is quite common. i have seen ss buckles where most part of backside was covered with brazing alloy.
i suppose it depends on skills of worker in fabrick. if he was new to this work he could done his job with mistakes as that.

A fellow collector has a matching flag. The FFFF design with the center swastika is in red on a white ground.
