unusual tropical belt buckle and belt

This is from a vet lot sourced from an antique shop.
Never seen the sewn on covers on the ends before eon an army belt.

what's the value of one like this these days?

the good thing is its been together like this since the war.

Not unusual, you will find them with sewn ends, cloth like yours and you can even find them with leather.DSC00064.jpg

Yes, I've seen them with cloth ends but this one has some kind of vinyl or leather. also I've seen the cloth reinforcements of the ends on Luft belts.

If you mean this stuff wrapped around the belt, I have never see that before. Is the discoloration from glue?

There is a stain on both ends with the leather covering. I don't see any glue. but I imagine there was some as it is discolored all around. looks like the might have glued it
            and then sewn it over.

            maybe a late set?

Didn’t realize it was leather on the end. Looked like cloth on my phone. Here is one with brown leather on the end.
