An extremely interesting buckle and the logo by the way, is for the well known manufacturer, Julius Maurer of Oberstein.

What has really baffled me is your stating that the buckle was obtained around three years ago, as this Polizei Koppelschloss appears remarkably similar to the latest generation of die cast and stamped aluminium fakes.

I am probably going to make an absolute fool of myself here, although what I do not like with your buckle is :-

• indistinct reverse detail to the roundel area
• slightly eccentric size ears to the box
• pin bottom
• JMO logo, although quite legitimate of course

Attached is a merged image of yours and the openly advertised copy, with and as I am sure you will agree, the similarities being quite striking.

I must add that I have not as yet seen one of the Polizei copies "in the flesh".

Perhaps other members of the Forum will comment.

Hello All.

I in many respects agree with David.

Pay attention to marks on my original buckle. It very strongly differs from submitted Nordewin. Letters in marks is written together with a triangle

I also believe the buckle is NO GOOD ...the prong is cast look at it...I saw a few of these at SOS show a few months ago...I even saw a fake HJ and I am kicking myself for not buying it ....I did bust the guy for trying to sell the stuff as real there was a police, a RLB 2nd pattern, a HJ ...they feel a little light...it is strange, because at a quick glance they look pretty good, but on close inspection, there are too many things that stand out ..Chad
