Is this a authentic buckle and is it Police or Water Police or some other? I also could not find a Police buckle with the D mark so thought it may be a copy.

It could be a poorly made Dransfeld and Co. the D is in a different position but looks about the same.

My pictures don't show enough detail but the D is raised and a strong stamp with no sign of any other letters on either side at all. Is there any maker with only a D?Comment

Dave may be right with the CTD. I have never seen another one with just a D.

I'll post a clear closeup tomorrow so you can see what I'm talking about. When I use a loop there is absolutly no sign of any weak marking or signs of anything being removed on either side of the D which is strong.Comment

The font and placement of the 'D.' looks CTD, in addition to other traits I see when comparing the two. I take no sign of a mark by the D back. After a closeup picture with my antique Sony FD Mavica 1.2 mega pixels
I can see the dot next to the D and what looks like part of a T to the left of the D. So probably a broken or worn die or struck on a angle. Thanks

Probably a late production aluminum buckle. It doesn’t have aluminum prongs. This looks like steel prongs.

Yes, Kirby is correct and I believe the entire pin, shroud and prongs have been replaced.Comment
